Young Danny Lester (Audie Murphy – in his first starring role) is a juvenile delinquent and a repeat offender who has just been sent to the Variety Club Ranch instead of jail. Danny should be glad he’s at the ranch, but instead, his crimes only seem to multiply. Marshall Brown (Lloyd Nolan - known as Coach by the boys at the ranch) and his wife, Maud (Jane Wyatt), run the ranch and hope to see Danny turn over a new leaf. But Marshall wonders: why is Danny acting out—and can he figure out how to help him change his ways before it’s too late?
